I’m Benoît Depaire, Assistant Professor of Business Informatics at Hasselt University. My personal and professional interest lies with information-related technology and its potential to create value for individuals, business and society.
I strongly believe that new technologies are a prerequisite for many innovations in modern day business and society, but the true potential does not lie in the technology itself, but in the way we use them to create value. Understanding how this potential can be unlocked, together with sharing these insights with like-minded people, is the ultimate goal to which I try to contribute. I do this on daily basis, together with my colleagues of the research group BusinessInformatics@HasseltUniversity.
My current research is focused on gaining empirically-validated insights from process-related data, to truly understand what is going on and to improve (business) processes. You can also find me teaching different topics related to Business Informatics, questioning the status-quo, trying to innovate our education program or reading up on new information-related technology.
